AN AD for Father’s Day… Miller High Life

This ad seems appropriate for Father’s Day – and I’m really quite proud to have been involved in developing it. Some of the most amusing and bizarre research I’ve ever conducted, including in-home interviews with backwoodsmen in middle-of-nowhere Alabama woodlands (with gunshots ringing out from the woods as we sat on the porch drinking) juxtaposed with focus groups with hipsters in the trendy bars of Portland / Minneapolis etc.
In my report I described this series of ads as ‘a paean to the lost values our fathers would have taught us had we not been watching TV instead.’
The results were amusing and to my mind, a little bit beautiful. Why not take a look at the whole reel at the end of the video. Good stuff from Wieden & Kennedy. Happy days…
Only this morning – a guy came driving down the road pulling a trailer – which became disconnected as he turned the corner – and careered into my car wiping out two side panels! ( it did need a respray so I’m not too upset)
